Radio Wakanda Privacy Policy

Radio Wakanda, operated by Camp Wakanda Forever Inc., respects the privacy of listeners, members, artists, guests and visitors who use radio.wakanda.ca.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Radio Wakanda, we may receive information you choose to provide, including your name, email address, phone number, song requests, dedications, contact messages, alert preferences, ratings, favorites and playlists. If you sign in, these activities may be associated with your WordPress user account.

Listening and technical information

Radio Wakanda records limited technical and listening information needed to operate and improve the station, such as playback events, station interactions, session identifiers and privacy-protective listener identifiers. For some anti-abuse and rating functions, technical identifiers such as an IP address or browser user-agent may be processed in hashed form rather than stored as plain text.

Device storage and cookies

The Radio Wakanda player uses browser storage to remember useful listener settings such as volume, mute, shuffle, repeat, playback position and recent listening history. WordPress may use cookies for login sessions, security and account preferences. You can clear browser storage or cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may reset station preferences or sign you out.

How we use information

We use information to deliver continuous playback, remember listener preferences, manage favorites and playlists, process ratings, requests and dedications, send requested station alerts, respond to messages, prevent abuse, maintain security, understand station usage and improve Radio Wakanda programming and services.

Sharing and third-party services

We do not sell listener personal information. Information may be handled by service providers that support website hosting, email delivery, security, analytics or other station functions, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices. Links or embedded content from other websites are governed by those websites’ privacy practices.

Public submissions

If a feature clearly identifies a submission as public, approved content may be displayed on Radio Wakanda. Do not include private or sensitive information in a request, dedication, shoutout or other submission that you would not want displayed or handled by the station team.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the station, maintain records, provide requested services, resolve issues and meet applicable legal or administrative requirements. We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can change many Radio Wakanda preferences directly in the player, unsubscribe from station alerts where an unsubscribe option is provided, clear local browser storage, or contact us about access, correction or deletion requests relating to personal information we control.
